It's that time of year again! We're on the lookout for room parents for each classroom. Teachers sincerely value the support of all their room parents, as do the kids.
Some of the responsibilities for room parents include:
emailing class' parents with weekly/biweekly emails from the Room Parent Coordinator;
sharing reminders about upcoming events, such as Spirit Day Themes;
organizing events for classroom, such as at Halloween, the holidays, end of year;
finding a volunteer for the class yearbook page;
organizing class gifts for occasions such as teacher's birthday, teacher appreciation week, end of year;
coordinating class basket for auction; and,
connecting with appropriate grade level room parent to organize Big Buddy/Little Buddy Pairs & Meetings.
As room parent you do not need to take on all these tasks yourself. You can contact other parents in the class to find volunteers to help throughout the year.
